“ Dr. Alfred Labine - He practiced medicine in Detroit, MI. Born in Calumet, Michigan to Charles and Adelina Labine. Went to school in Calumet and graduated from Calumet High School in 1913. Went to Medical School in Detroit, Michigan and became an M.D. in 1917. In October of 1917, he was drafted into the Navy where he served on a hospital ship, the S. S. Siboney, that went back and forth between the U. S. and Paris, France. After leaving the service he married Helen Paxton and settled in Detroit, Michigan, where he practiced medicine in the General Motors Building. He retired at Mullet Lake, Michigan. “8158
Questions/Errors notes for Dr. Alfred LABINE
Daryl LaBine’s reference8169 provides a birth year of 1892 for Dr. Alfred Labine while Mark Labine’s bookp. D-547504 lists his year of birth as 1893. Since Alfred Labine’s brother Arthur Labine was born on 1 June 1892, it appears more likely that Alfred Labine was born thirteen months later on 11 July 1893 rather than 1 month later on 11 July 1892. For this reason I believe the birth year should be 1893.
Daryl LaBine’s reference8182 provides a date of marriage for Dr. Alfred Labine and Helen Paxton of 4 September 1920 while Mark Labine’s book8158 gives a marriage year of 1919. Because Daryl LaBine’s reference provides a more specific date, I have chosen to use it; however, it is not certain that the year is correct.
