The baby, a boy born to Mr. and Mrs. Roy Duvall of 5160 Plum Creek drive, died before the fireman arrived at the hospital the second time. “

“ Elroy J. Duvall, 87, of 5160 Plum Creek Dr. died at 10:15 p.m. Thursday in Mercy Memorial Hospital where he had been the past six weeks. He had been ill the past five y;ears, living in Frenchtown Nursing Care Center, and seriously ill the past six week.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday at the Allore Funeral Home, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday. The Rev. William McBride of Calvary United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle.
Born Sept. 7, 1902 in Monroe, he was the son of William and Clara (Frankhouse) Duvall. His first marriage was to Gladys Furstenburg, who he later divorced. He then married Minnie Cole, who died July 3, 1967.
A laborer with Monroe Auto Equipment Co. for many years, he was a member of Monroe Senior Citizens.
Surviving are a son, Roy, of Monroe; 3 daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Cooper, Mrs. Orla Absalom and Mrs. Peggy Lanier, all of Monroe; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Memorials may be to a charity of the donor’s choice. “

“ Lawrence W. Duvall, 69, who lived with a daughter, Mrs. Leo Johnson of 1264 Arbor Ave., died at 6:30 p.m. yesterday in Toledo Hospital, Toledo. Mr. Duvall became ill at his daughter’s home and was take to Mercy Hospital, Monroe, then transferred to Toledo Hospital. He had been in poor health since 1963.
Friends may call after 7 tonight at the Allore Funeral Home. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home and at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
The son of William and Clara Duvall, he was born July 26, 1900, in Monroe. He married Josephine Bogedain in June 1920, in St. Mary’s Church. She preceded him in death in April, 1963.
He had lived in Monroe all his life and was employed 47 years by the Union Camp Corp., retiring in 1965. Mr. Duvall was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Surviving are a son: Edward J. Duvall of Monroe; a daughter, Mrs. Leo (Beatrice) Johnston of Monroe; a brother, Roy Duvall of Monroe; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. “
