It is uncertain if the parents of Seraphie Babin listed in Daryl LaBine’s work14007 are correct. He suggests that the parents of Seraphie Babin are Joseph Babin and Elizabeth LeBlanc. The “Catalogue of the Families of the Parishes of Baie Ste. Marie and St. Mandé etc. 1840-1844”14013,14014 list only one Seraphine Babin with parents and she is the daughter of Pierre Babin and Marie Gertrude Martin. Also, the “Catalogue of the Families of the Parishes of Baie Ste. Marie and St. Mandé etc. 1823-1829”14018,14019 has only one Seraphie Babin listed and she is the daughter of Pierre Babin and Marie Gertrude Martin. Since Daryl LaBine does not cite a source for his information and because Seraphie is not a common first name, I have placed Pierre Babin and Marie Gertrude Martin as the parents of Seraphie Babin.
