Camelle A. CastonguayLEWISTON - Carmelle A. Castonguay, age 100, a lifelong resident of Livermore Falls, died Thursday evening, March 8 at the d’Youville Pavillion where she had been a patient for three years. She was born in Livermore Falls on Feb. 2, 1901, the daughter of Joseph and Emelda Gendron Labine. She attended the local schools of Livermore Falls.
She married Pierre Castonguay on May 26, 1924. They made their home in Livermore Falls where they raised 10 daughters and three sons. Mr. Castonguay died on July 31, 1977.
She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of the Jay-Livermore Falls Senior Citizens. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting slippers for the family.
She is survived by nine daugthers, Lorraine Cote of Jay, Patricia Nadeau of Livermore, Pauline Dion and her husband Alex of Jay, Margaret Williamson and her husband Earl of New York, Claudette Lemelin and her husband Alcide of Livermore, Anita Couture and her husband Gilles of Livermore Falls, Louise Nolette of Livermore Falls, Theresa Maranda of Livermore and Jacqueline Mercier and her husband David of Livermore; three sons and their wives, Roger and Irene, and Rene and Anita all of Jay and Paul and Barbara of Livermore; a sister, Gabrielle Labine of Livermore Falls; a son-in-law, Raymond Henry; 57 grandchildren; 89 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter Gloria Henry; and a granddaughter, Judy Flagg. “
