Bernard Geddry states that Hilaire Guedry, son of Romain Guedry and Marie Comeau, married Leonice Deveau in 183513858. Daryl Labine also lists Hilaire Augustin Guedry married Leonice Deveau about 183513713. Daryl Labine, however, indicates that the parents of Hilaire Augustin Guedry, husband of Leonice Deveau, are Augustin Guildry dit Labine, former husband of Marie Françoise Jeanson, and Angéle Saulnier13748. Daryl Labine states that the marriage of Augustin Guildry and Angéle Labine occurred about 17955381; however, no record of a marriage between Augustin Guildry and Angéle Saulnier can be found nor can any of the four children (Celestin Honoré Guédry, Hilaire Augustin Guedry, Ben Guedry and Honoré Guedry) that Daryl Labine lists be found in the records5381.

In this same work Daryl LaBine states that Hilaire Guidry, son of Romain Guidry and Marie Comeau, was married on 23 November 1829 to Cecile Bourg, daugther of Edouard Bourg and Henriette Landry13859. Recent research reveals that Hilaire Augustin Guidry, son of Romain Guidry and Marie Comeau, did marry Cécile Bourg on 23 November 1829 in Carleton, Québec. In the marriage certificate from Saint-Joseph-de-Carleton Catholic Church Abbé Louis-Stanislas Malo states that on 23 November 1829 he married “Hilaire Guidry fils majeure de Romain Guidry et de Marie Comeau de Madawaska d’une part et Cecile Bourg, fille majeure des defunct Edouard Bourg et Henriette Landry de cette paroisse d’autre part....” (Translated: “Hilaire Guidry major son of Romain Guidry and of Marie Comeau of Madawaska of one part and Cecile Bourg, major daughter of the late Edouard Bourg and Henriette Landry of this parish of the other part....”)13766,13860,13861. Hilaire Guidry and Cécile Bourg remained married for many years until 26 September 1846 when Hilaire Guidry was buried at Rivière-à-L’Anguille, Bonaventure County, Québec13862,13863.

Although no marriage document or other primary evidence has been found, it seems plausible that Leonice Deveau married Marc Hilaire Guedry in 1835. Leonice Deveau was born on 10 July 1813 to Archange Devault and Rosalie Dousset13864,13856,13865. Hilaire Augustin Guedry was born 18 February 1805 to Romain Guedry and Marie Comeau13742,13760. Marc Hilaire Guiddery, son of Hermat-Pierre Guiddery and Marie Anne Belliveau, was born 28 April 18067162,7163,7164. Furthermore, we find no marriage record of Marc Hilaire Guiddery, but do find that a Hilaire Guiddery married Leonice Devault about 1835 as they had a child Archange Ignace Guiddery born on 1 February 183613787,13857. This family was censused in the St. Mary Bay region of Nova Scotia between 1840 and 1844. We also saw that Marc Hilaire Guiddery was present in the St. Mary Bay area with his parents as late as 1823 when he was censused there. Hilaire Augustin Guedry was censused in the St. Mary Bay area between 1818 and 1823, but was not censused between 1823 and 1829 - indicating he may have left the area before 1829. We note from the marriage certificate of Hilaire Guidry and Cécile Bourg that Romain Guidry and Marie Comeau, parents of Hilaire Guidry, were listed as being from Madawaska (located on the border between New Brunswick and Maine). Apparently Romain Guidry, Marie Comeau and their family moved from the St. Mary Bay area to Madawaska before they could be censused during the period 1823 to 1829.
