About 1947 Samuel Savage with his wife and children moved to Texas City, Galveston County, TX where he opened a small grocery store. About 1951 they were able to move to a new home in La Marque, Galveston County, TX and life became a little more normal for the family. She became a fulltime, great cook and a ‘taxi’ for the boys
